Where to park
There are several car parks within walking distance of the centre. Please note, these car parks are pay and display parking.
Accessibility
The building is wheelchair accessible, with street level access. However, there is a small lip at the entrance to the building, approximately 5cm high. There is a lift to take you up to the donor centre on the 2nd floor. Please ring the buzzer to be granted access.

Travelling to the donor centre
You can find the centre next to the Second Cup Coffee Company.
If you are travelling by:
- train and metro: the centre is less than a 5 minute walk from New Street Station.
- bicycle: there are bike racks located in the pedestrianised street outside the donor centre, but please be aware that this is not a secure bike parking facility.
- car: please be aware that the donor centre is on a pedestrianised street. There are several pay and display car parks within a 10 minute walk of the donor centre.
Car parks may be within Birmingham's Clean Air Zone – you may have to pay to drive inside this. Check if you need to pay to drive in the Birmingham Clean Air Zone.

Opening hours
The donor centre is open on weekdays, evenings and weekends, as follows:
- Monday - 10:50am to 6:45pm
- Tuesday - 7:50am to 3:35pm
- Wednesday - 10:50am to 6:45pm
- Thursday - 10:50am to 6:45pm
- Friday - 7:50am to 3:35pm
- Saturday - 7:50am to 3:35pm
- Sunday - closed

What you can donate
Blood
An appointment to give blood takes an hour, with the donation taking around 5-10 minutes.
Your blood could help someone in an emergency, help save the lives of mothers and babies during childbirth, or help to fight sickle cell.
Platelets
An appointment to give platelets takes around 2 hours, with the donation taking up to 90 minutes.
Your platelets could help someone combat cancer or recover from losing a lot of blood after an accident, organ transplant or surgery.
